Our founder, Chef Elizabeth Simms, is a classically trained chef with more than 10 years in the hospitality industry. She is fiercely passionate about local and seasonal cuisine and has had the opportunity to participate in that process all over the world in varying cuisines and venues.

Every day is an adventure… and we want to fuel yours! We live our life outdoors, enjoying all our beautiful beaches and parks, playing ball & disc golf, scuba diving and supporting local farms and businesses. We can’t wait to share with you how good our life tastes!

We began our journey as Late Risers with our food truck, Charlie, and opened our Bar & Grille at the St. John’s Golf Club in August 2020.

For now, Charlie is only out for special events, catering and to serve up the delicious at select concerts at The Amp, St. Augustine.

Join us for a delicious, local, scratch prepared meal before your tee time, at the turn or after your round. The Bar & Grille is open to golfers and the public Tuesday through Sunday at 9am. We are open until at least 4pm each day, with later hours on Friday and Saturday evenings. If you’re looking for a hot breakfast, the kitchen opens at 9am on weekdays. Please check our social media pages, or give us a ring to confirm hours, which may change based on events or inclement weather.

As our food truck is a fully mobile kitchen, we can provide high quality catering for any special event in virtually any location. From social club events, birthday parties and weddings to holiday parties, corporate launches and catering drop-offs, we are ready to work with you on a custom menu for your upcoming event. With our new space at the St. John’s County Golf Course, we can also provide a beautiful indoor or outdoor venue with bar packages for your event!

We also provide Private Chef Services. Whether you are looking for a multi-course, upscale dinner in your home, a private cooking class or a catered weekend at your vacation rental, let us help you to make every meal an elevated experience! We can even stock your fridge with locally sourced and scratch prepared signature goodies so you can cater your own beach holiday!
